ASRC Aerospace provides systems engineering and software engineering support at the RDT&E Support Complex (RSC), located at Kirtland Air Force Base and the Center for Research Support (CERES) facility located at Schriever Air Force Base. ASRC performs services in support of satellite ground control systems and facilities, mission equipment, and related peripheral equipment. The systems and equipment are used for mission planning, orbit management, satellite commanding, data collection and processing, training, data distribution (real-time and non-real-time), and other aspects of space systems operations. At the RSC, ASRC has worked with Lockheed Martin to design, develop and procure improvements to C3 systems in support of various R&D satellite programs. ASRC provides systems engineering, systems administration, and network engineering in support of the evaluation of various COTS command and control systems at the CERES facility. The CERES facility is used as a key test bed for the implementation and evaluation of Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) within the AFSCN environment. ASRC’s system administration and hardware integration personnel at CERES troubleshoot problems, maintain licenses, create user accounts, perform backups, upgrade the operating systems, install software and software patches, and configure and maintain the various platforms that are brought in to the CERES facility. ASRC system engineers coordinate all activities on the systems with the operations crew. They also coordinate any visits by supporting vendors. ASRC personnel at CERES help provide emergency 24X7 support to the operations team during normal duty hours and by pager during off-hours including weekends.
