University-affiliated Spaceport Technology Development Contract (USTDC) NAS10-03006

ASRC Aerospace Corporation is the prime contractor for the NASA/Kennedy Space Center - University-affiliated Spaceport Technology Development Contract (USTDC). The mission of USTDC is to provide research and engineering services focusing on the development of advanced spaceport technologies and systems that will enable safe, reliable, and low cost access to space.
ASRC Aerospace Corporation along with its team members consisting of Swales Aerospace, Sierra Lobo, University of Florida and Universal Technology Corp were awarded this contract on February 10, 2003 with a contract start of March 4, 2003. USTDC is a cost reimbursement award fee/incentive fee, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract with a basic performance period of five (5) years with five (5) 1-year options, and will be performed at KSC and NASA facilities located on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.

The USTDC includes management of complex applied research, development, and technology projects, delivering products and services to customers in the areas spaceport and range systems and equipment, and operating and maintaining a variety of assigned on-site facilities, laboratories, and testbeds. This contract is responsible for researching, breadboarding, prototyping, designing, fabricating, assembling, testing, evaluating, and delivering unique technologies and systems for spaceport customers.

The USTDC team seeks research and development work funded by NASA, other Government agencies, and private industry through a Technology Outreach Program promoting KSC unique expertise, laboratory and testbed capabilities.
